Progressive Muscle Relaxation for Kids (PMR)

Did you know that when kids (or adults!) feel stressed or anxious, they often carry tension in their body.

One strategy for reducing the tension, and thereby lowering intensity of anxiety, is to loosen your muscles.

A great way to learn how to do this, is to progressively tighten and relax each muscle group.

This is a great activity to do with kids of all ages!! It can be particularly helpful for kids as they wind down for sleep, or prior to starting an academic activity.

Below are two, kid friendly, YouTube videos that you and your kids can follow along together.

Happy relaxing!
