Description:

Involves in-home psychotherapy

Criteria:
Unipolar MDD and Stroke and receiving inpatient or outpatient rehabilitation within 3 months after stroke
Duration:
14 sessions over 1 year
Compensation:
Up to $165

Description:

Involves an FDA-approved antidepressant medication and 2 MRI scans

Age:
60-85 years
Criteria:
Diagnosis of major depression, right-handed, absence of neurological disorders or other psychiatric diagnoses
Duration:
Weekly and biweekly visits with a psychiatrist for 14 weeks
Compensation:
Up to $440, free medication, plus transportation costs

Are you an older adult who has tried antidepressants but still experiences troublesome symptoms?

Description:

30 hours of individually-graded exercises on a computerized cognitive remediation program

Age:
60-90 years
Criteria:
Major depressive disorder, failure to achieve substantial improvement of depressive symptoms after at least 8 weeks of treatment with a therapeutic dose of an antidepressant
Duration:
3-5 weekly visits for 4-6 weeks
Compensation:
Up to $200 plus transportation costs
