Cognitive Behavior Therapy Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) can help people learn to change inappropriate or negative thought patterns and behaviors that are troublesome, self-defeating or self-destructive. The goal is to recognize negative beliefs or mind-sets and replace them with positive thoughts or expectations, which will lead to more appropriate and beneficial behavior.

The Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Services of Payne Whitney Outpatient Department are dedicated to the delivery of effective, affordable, time-limited, and focused Cognitive Behavior psychotherapy. Cognitive Behavior psychotherapy is provided for specific kinds of problems, including:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety, phobias and panic
  • Obsessions and compulsions
  • Stressful life events
  • Personal loss and mourning
  • Family and relationship problems
  • Chronic medical illness
  • Chronic pain
  • Eating disorders

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is provided both individually and in groups.
